Plasma televisions still have superior picture quality, motion tracking and contrast ratios, when compared to all types of LCD (whether they are LED or fluorescent back-lit LCD TVs).

The latest generation of plasma TVs will draw only marginally more power than an LCD. The ludicrous notion that plasma TVs are “power hungry” has long since been debunked as a myth.

Plasma TVs are best for films. LCD TVs are best for playing video games.

Personally, I wouldn’t bother with 3D just yet. What you see on 3D TVs at the moment is not actually a true 3D image, but a ‘layered’ 2D image, which looks pretty naff, to be honest. I’d wait a while, until they improve the technology and produce TVs that can show true 3D images.
